Sanya’s economic zone in Hainan will boost major infrastructure projects

Sanya's economic zone in the southern part of Hainan Island plans to accelerate the implementation of large infrastructure projects in 2023, especially in transport communications. This was announced by the head of the regional economic service of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Li Lu.
 
"The participants of a recently held meeting of the managing group for the development of Sanya's economic zone reached a deep understanding on key aspects of work for 2023," she was quoted as saying by the Sanya Daily newspaper. "They discussed planning, implementing important strategic innovations, developing major infrastructure projects, and programs to promote exchanges and cooperation. <...> They addressed the most pressing issues on the agenda."
 
The official clarified that the meeting outlined 28 specific tasks relating to the promotion of socio-economic development of Sanya. "We will work through all issues together and at all levels in the course of establishing the economic zone," Li Lu stressed.
 
According to the official, in recent months Sanya has continued to actively participate in the construction of the tourist circular highway that encircles Hainan. The city is also creating comfortable routes along the perimeter of the state tropical forest park in the center of the island. The authorities are pushing ahead with the construction of facilities that are necessary to form a medical tourism industry that meets advanced international standards.
 
Zhou Hongbo, Secretary of the Sanya Municipal Party Committee, said that strengthening Sanya's economic zone is an important step in promoting integrated development processes. He stressed the authorities' willingness to expand the scale of the transformation, to use additional effective incentive methods.
 
Sanya is one of the key centers of Hainan's economic development, with the service sector providing a significant portion of its income. The island's administration plans to turn the city into a leading financial and economic center with advanced infrastructure, housing the headquarters of major Chinese and foreign companies. This large city, also known around the world as a first-class resort, is transforming itself year after year, attracting the attention of more and more investors.
